The members of WCO meet at least once every year. In 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015, it co-located with the International Corrugated Case Association (ICCA) in Global Summits of the corrugated and containerboard industries and will meet again at the 2017 Summit in Brasil. In even-number years, it co-locates with the Congress of the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO).

In order to meet the above mentioned goals, WCO:

• collects, prepares and circulates statistics on containerboard and recovered paper
• analyses statistics to provide members with market surveys on the development of shipments and consumption, production and capacity utilisation, etc
• carries out research on market forecasts, capacity developments, supply and demand balances, etc
• serves as a center of communication
• coordinates the industry position (standardisations, life cycle analysis, competitive threats, etc) and
• liaises with national and international trade associations.
